A thank you to those who reminded me and remained patient while their reminders went largely unrewarded. :) I liked the flavor of cards like Halimar Depths and Fertile Thicket, but I understand their removal. Playability should trump flavor if you want to increase the chances of everyone having fun.

Conspiracy 2, Kaladesh and Commander 2016 Update

You can drive things AND wear a crown!? My word! But seriously ... I worry Monarch could get out of hand. It could highlight the skill gap in players and provide a more drawn out, agonizing defeat. Or it could get the more timid newbies to actually get out there and start turning cards sideways! With all the love for tokens these days I also wonder how they're doing in the cube overall. Good? Too good? not good enough? Fabricate fits the mould, if anything. Overall quite a few solid adds that I'm looking forward to one day making use of! PS: I spent 20 minutes making the logo for this update. That's 19 more minutes of effort than every other logo found on a Google search. I call it, "Conladic Athering: Takender".

Eldritch Moon Pauper Cube Update

It's to make sure there are more interesting decisions, and I hope it plays out that way. Blue seems to have taken a step into the graveyard, which I really like, and Black is starting to lean further in that direction. Graveyard all over is really getting to be a major factor in these colours. I've always been a bit of a fan and there are lots of great cards to pull from! I'm also really interested in seeing how the replacement of Fyndhorn Elves and Llanowar Elves plays out. Decisions abound! Sad to see my fancy Hymn to Tourach go, though! Eternal Masters Pauper Cube Update

Downshifted cards always make for interesting additions. There aren't any particularly groundbreaking changes, but some simple stuff that looks fun. Warden of Evos Isle and Orcish Oriflamme are the ones that particularly interest me. The former being an interesting build-around and the latter seeming much more interesting to me after I realized it was an enchantment and not an instant or sorcery. I'm hoping there can be more enchantments like this in the future, but I know interesting global enchantments like this are a rare breed. Emperor Crocodile seems like an odd one, to me. Four mana for a 5/5 is noteworthy, but it seems rather easy to play around. If I were doing poorly and top-decked this card I would not be a happy camper. I could see it being a solid tool in a token deck, but otherwise it seems like a bit more of a gamble than I personally like.
