Hi Ben, Thank you so much for the creation of this site. I am glad that many people have access to your gaming platform and are able to draft insane and various cubes. Just to inform you I found you from LLR who recommended your site on an old ‘how to build a cube,’ your cube was the First one on the site and I sought to build it in paper. I started by getting all the commons and uncommons and my friends and I drafted it, it was terribly underwhelming. However, after many of the $5 USD rares and $10 USD mythics were included, the cube went off. I only play paper cube but I love your artefact inclusion, the black zombie inclusion. The colours do what they are supposed to do. The black tribal is slight but it works so well. From an aesthetics point of view, the current iteration is beautiful to look at and the power has increased drastically. Redundant cards are not included in your cube, neither frost giant, nor all gear hulks nor all of the expertises are included. I have an uneven split of colours but my mana fixing is almost correct (just missing 5 dual lands). I have 520 cards out of the 720 and 2 pieces of the power 9. Even with the cards I have the cube performs like a well-oiled machine. THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH BEN I prefer your cube to the MTGO cube. TL;DR I play paper and I have 520 cards of your 720 card cube. Not sure how to leave a regular comment. I too, have built a gold cube, but had issues with handling land. We had to take a lot of the removal out as well, because it gave too much of an advantage. How are you handling land? We settled on shuffling as many backwards magic cards into your deck as you want, then when you play a land, you choose what basic it is and grab one from the stack to cover it up. Cube Tutor is dead, Ben stopped updating a while ago. Cube Cobra is pretty great nowadays.

yeah cobra is great, it doesnt have all the functions of ct yet and most didnt migrate their cubes yet.

I would say that the flicker interaction with fiend hunter exiling something permanently doesn't make this a strict upgrade. Though weather you have the enablers for this is a different matter entirely.

It's the double white mana cost to single white that makes it a strict upgrade. Not a whole lot, but useful for multicolor.

Human is a more relevant creature type. And not to mention the art... But the single white mana cost will be significant way more often.

I think the Fiend Hunter is better. Despite the double white, you get the ability to exile something you control, which means I can blink it to save my own creatures being targeted by removal or can reuse ETBs so long as I have a reliable way to blink it.

Geralf's Messenger is basically a trap, isn't it? Your reward for playing monocolor of the worst color in cube is ... a decent three drop. And you really can't play him in a two color deck. Gray Merchant is maybe different in that the reward is actually powerful? Not sure. I don't know if Cryptbreaker is good enough or Zulaport Cutthroat has enough support but I really like those cards. Jason Waddell (of Riptide Lab and SCG/CFB cube articles) added Threaten effects and made a RB "steal your things then sacrifice them to my things" archetype for a long time in his main cube. I think it's still there. That's not what's going on here but it's in line with your thinking. I like light tribal support and inevitability / attrition support of black In your cube. It's difficult at times not to have black (or white for that matter) be the awesome 2-4-1 card color, so I really appreciate this synergistic approach.

@bakert - Geralf's Messenger isn't just a decent three-drop, it's also very synergistic with all of the sac and recur effects that we now have going on. The fact that it's a Zombie AND a devotion card really pushes it over the edge because it's doing everything that you want the colour to do. Running him in a two colour deck also isn't as impossible as it sounds with all of the duals plus cards like Urborg. You have to invest in him to make it work but I'd rather have a huge payoff for black than leave it in the middle-ground-do-nothing-particularly-well state that it was before. I've read Jason's theory on this and adding more Threaten effects to improve the red pairing certainly is solid. More work to come for sure!

As for Cryptbreaker.. this card is absolutely nuts and I don't know how I missed just adding it to cube for value. It's so easy to build your own Phrexian Arena + Zombie horde with it, plus it incidentally helps out the Reanimator deck. Zulaport Cutthroat is arguably a little narrow but it's worth remembering that the other thing black slides in to really well is Orzhov tokens. Even without Zombie shenanigans it has a lot of value when you're threatening lethal drains with a bunch of 1/1s!

@Ben Cryptbreaker is a fantastic card and I honestly couldn't believe it when you left it out of the Eldritch Moon update, though sometimes a card just doesn't fit with everything else. Only reason he's not in my cube right now is that he's sitting off to the side for when I have enough to bump up the size of the cube. As for Geralf's Messenger, I'm glad you finally found a way to justify it. I had it in my cube at one point but had to take it out because it just wasn't justifiable.

Have you considered Gurmag Angler as an additional zombie?
